The purpose of The Commonsense Entrepreneur is to provide a self–analysis checklist for entrepreneurs. When it comes to the skills we use (or would like to use) to make a living, many of us are self-taught. Often this leaves holes in our education. Some we're aware of, others, we're not. This book will help ferret out the latter and allow them to be filled in before they cause problems.

Diamond In The Rough Teleseminars Presents...
The Commonsense Entrepreneur: Success Through Customer–Centric Thinking
With Guest Speaker Joel D Canfield
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
5:00 pm–6:00 pm Pacific
Join us for one hour to learn how focusing on the customer in every aspect of your business, not just those we traditionally associate with customer service, will help your business thrive.
Who Should Attend? –Solo professionals and New Small Business Operators
Customer–centric thinking is vital to service related small businesses. Too many service related businesses have gotten so wrapped up in process, cost–cutting, and gimmicky advertising that they've forgotten that without customers, there is no business. Even those who remember the customer don't always know what customers want and how to provide it.
Customer–centric thinking means focusing on the customer in every aspect of your business, not just those we traditionally associate with customer service.
Know the four basic consumer needs. Get inside the minds of your suspects, prospects and clients to see how they make decisions, how they learn, and how meeting their greatest unfilled emotional need can help you succeed.
You will learn:
- The single most important thing to know about a client or prospect
- The four basic consumer needs
- How to avoid 'zero sum' thinking in persuasion
- How to achieve synergy instead of compromise
- The core of effective ethical persuasion
- How to avoid three consumer decision–making roadblocks
- How to use emotional bank accounts in permission marketing
- Why communication mirroring is important
- How most people's self-perception affects how you do business
Format: Barbara Davis, life and business coach, will have a one–on–one discussion with Joel about The Commonsense Entrepreneur.
About Joel D Canfield: Joel D Canfield, The Commonsense Entrepreneur, speaks, writes, and consults on customer–centric thinking as a primary tool for service related small businesses to reach their business goals. Topic 1: Introduction to Fan-Centric Thinking
Even musicians must provide an excellent customer experience to thrive. This course will show how to apply fan–centric thinking to all aspects of your music business.
Topic 2: Personal Skills for Professional Musicians
So many aspiring musicians are extremely talented, but are less than perfect in one or more area when it comes to personal skills and habits. This class will act as a checklist for self–analysis to help ferret out possible gaps in the foundation of your professional presentation.
Topic 3: Commonsense Music Marketing
Traditional 'interruption' advertising is no longer effective marketing; in fact, it's actually anti–marketing in most cases. Marketing by developing relationships is the key to creating your fan base. This class shows how to combine intelligently targeted advertising with the concepts of permission-based marketing, directed word–of–mouth, and the excellence of your own business to connect with new fans. We'll discuss information gathering, good writing, the educational aspects of marketing, and when to get help instead of doing it yourself.

Risk-Free Consultation
My goal is to help small businesses succeed, while succeeding myself. As one step on that road, I would like to offer you a risk-free half-hour consultation. Let's discuss the biggest challenge you're facing in business, your most recent 'learning experience' (some call them mistakes), or your dreams for your career and yourself. Let me convince you of my ability to understand your issues quickly and offer practical guidance to help you succeed.
My usual fee is $50 per half-hour. If, at the end of our discussion, you don't feel that I've helped, you keep your check.
Regardless, I also sincerely ask for your honest feedback, and the right, if I choose, to include that feedback here on my website and in my book (credited to you, or anonymous; your choice.)
Please call toll free (877) 771-7746 or email Book@CommonsenseEntrepreneur.com (or use the contact form) to arrange your risk-free half-hour consultation by phone, email, or letter, or if you're in the Roseville/Sacramento area, in person at your place of business.
Another Free Offer!
We'd love to give you some free advice. Just email us a question, or a description of the issue you're facing, and we'll offer some ready-to-use suggestions and the reasons behind them. All we ask is your permission to re-print the essence of the Q&A.
